Microsoft is a US multinational technology company that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers and services. Microsoft's most famous software products are Microsoft's Windows line operating systems, Microsoft Office suite and Internet Explorer and Edge Web browser.

Up to 2015, Microsoft's market-driven IBM PC-compatible operating system market and office software suite market, although it has lost most of the overall operating system market to Android. The company also produces a wide range of other consumer and enterprise software for desktops and servers, including Internet search (with Bing), the digital services market (through MSN), mixed reality (HoloLens), cloud computing (Azure) and software development (Visual Studio).

As of 2016, Microsoft is the world's largest revenue software manufacturer which is one of the world's most valuable companies. "Microsoft" is the word "microcomputer" and "software" port.
